    01. an idea was born

the idea of sugar free* hit me months ago while i was ringing up a customer at work. i don’t know why the name took up so much space in my mind, but i jotted it down on a sticky note that was mindlessly stuck (lol) to my laundry detergent tin for months without motion.

as i write this introduction, i’m sitting in my living room, letting creative flow take over. after months of longing for writer’s block to pass it can be hard to take initiative, but sometimes it jumps you out of nowhere and beats your brain to pulp. beautiful, introspective, creative pulp- but pulp nonetheless.

the purpose of this “blog” is to put my piled-up writing prompts and journal entries to use. uploading these snapshots of my internal monologue might be an idea that goes nowhere, or it might be a healthy exercise in being transparent with myself. that part is yet to be determined.

the most important thing to note while reading the posts to come is that i’m simply speaking my thoughts into real, actually existing media. sugar free* is not meant to be perfectly edited or picked apart by my peers, but to be interpreted at the audience’s own free will. these are my ideas, my dreams deconstructed in a way that makes sense, the flow of conversation between myself and my conscience.

enjoy, or don’t, it’s all real either way. no frills or lace. only, namely, “sugar free” crumbs fed directly from my brain to yours.
